One goal of Accountability Insight is to provide oversight tools, specifically designed for authorizers, that support the entire chartering life cycle – from initial application to regular reviews to reauthorization.  Accountability Insight provides a suite of “Insight modules”; each Insight module is designed to assist authorizers with specific areas of oversight.  The second goal is to provide authorizers with a solution that enables quality oversight within often limited budgets.   

The Story of Accountability Insight
Accountability Insight is a replacement for the Authorizers Oversight Information System (AOIS).  Developed over 11 years ago in partnership with The Center for Charter Schools at Central Michigan University, AOIS was designed to automate and streamline the document collection process between authorizers and the charter schools they oversee.  Over the years we have seen a great need for additional tools as well as recognized that there are opportunities to make the process more efficient for both authorizers and charter schools. 

Accountability Insight incorporates the best features of AOIS and adds area-specific Insight modules to assist authorizers with their oversight responsibilities.  Accountability Insight simplifies information gathering, allowing oversight staff to focus more attention on analyzing school performance and creating and supporting quality charter schools.
